meeting of the minds

this evening i went to the WeHo library for a workshop-like event about issues surrounding memoir writing.  i was delighted to have met the host of this event, Tristine Rainer, founder of the Center for Autobiographic Studies, writer, teacher, and friend of anais nin.  as it turns out, Tristine Rainer and i will be presenting on the same panel together at the Northeast MLA conference in Quebec in April.  the panel is called, “(Re)Writing Anais Nin and her Diaries.”  i left the event feeling energized — it’s always good to have reminders that writing does not have to be so lonely.
