it’s raining in LA.  i just saw a worm out on the concrete oozing its way across the footpath.  normally i’d look the other way because of my serious aversion to bugs and anything else creepy-crawly, but there was such a delicate contentment to its struggle.  finally the weather changed and created the exact right environment for this creature to inch its way form point A to point B.  the concrete was practically a slip-‘n-slide for the little thing.  and there it went, seeming for a moment to merely wiggle around on the ground, but really moving quite gracefully over the cracks and bumps, alternately condensing and extending its thin body in order to push itself.
