mortal facts

a list of “Mortal Facts” composed as a writing exercise in conjunction with reading Tyrone Williams’ book On Spec:

Everyone’s going to die

No one else can look through your eyes

Knowing my skin is made of dust helps me figure out what to eat for dinner

Everyone’s afraid of dying even if they say they’re not

Refracted light is everywhere

I can see Mars from my window

Opening my eyes in the morning is mortal magic

I am a different shape

Some streets are concrete some are dust

Gimme some water

Hardons, orgasms, shit and fluid

I multiply and multiply and multiply and multiply and multiply
